Student Leadership in Sustainability

Welcome to the homepage of the Student Leadership in Sustainability Program!

Since September 2010, Be The Change has delivered a groundbreaking student leadership program to hundreds of high school students across British Columbia's Lower Mainland, engaging them in collaborative, experiential education with a focus on environmental sustainability and social justice.

The program's successful pilot year was highly experimental, and an incredible learning experience. Over the course of the following summer, we worked in close collaboration with teachers and students to catalyze the feedback we received
into the most effective high school engagement program possible.

The resulting Student Leadership in Sustainability (SLS) program is a truly unique and comprehensive offering, featuring a combination of assembly presentations, teacher lesson plans, multimedia resource kits, certificates of achievement, and student "Action Packs" that inform and empower students to take on the world's most pressing social and environmental issues right here in their home communities.
